1994年春天到夏天的时间里 Stratovarius 一直在创作新歌，带着日本演出上依然未消退的激情，乐队再次进入录音棚录制新唱片。Timo Tolkki还终于实现了自己长久的梦想——他录制了一张solo专辑“Classical Variations and Themes”。其中包括“Fire Dance Suite”，这首歌原先创作于1986年，还有“Lord Of The Rings”以及许多其他影响广泛的经典歌曲。这张专辑发行于1994年10月，而Stratovarius还用了整整一个夏天录制了自己的第四张专辑。
而经过了“Fourth Dimension”的巨大成功后，Timo Tolkki 和 Timo Kotipelto 希望进一步发展 Stratovarius 的音乐，而此时新的鼓手 Jooumlorg Michael 和新键盘手 Jens Johansson 也同时加入了乐队。
乐队第五张专辑的录制混合工作于赫尔辛基的 Finnvox 录音棚展开，这张专辑再一次推动了Stratovarius的音乐发展，加入了 Johansson 和Michael 耳目一新的音乐演奏和工作态度，使得 Stratovarius 的音乐向戏曲化、旋律化以及交响化的金属音乐发展，这也是乐队首次尝试使用40人的唱诗班以及20人规模的管弦乐队参加音乐的制作，这张专辑也包括了 Stratovarius 的许多经典歌曲，比如“Father Time”，“Eternity”以及“Will the Sun Rise?”。
